TotalEnergies Evaluates Drilling Additional Wells at Absheron

Baku: TotalEnergies is currently evaluating the potential for drilling additional wells at the Absheron gas-condensate field. Emmanuel de Guillebon, the Country Chair of TotalEnergies in Azerbaijan, shared this information during the 'Upstream Sector - New Horizons' session at the Baku Energy Forum.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, de Guillebon highlighted that the infrastructure planned for the second phase of Absheron's development is designed to process up to 12.7 million cubic meters of gas and 40,000 barrels of condensate daily. The company is actively exploring further production opportunities to maximize the utilization of the existing pipeline and processing facilities.

De Guillebon noted that Absheron is a significant field and that TotalEnergies, in collaboration with SOCAR and XRG, is seeking new opportunities, particularly in the eastern part of the field. Recent seismic studies have improved the understanding of the field, potentially paving the way for additional drilling to optimize resource extraction and facility use.
