Snowfalls and ice last night paralyzed traffic on a number of mountain and inter-regional roads in Azerbaijan.

In particular, up to 100 cars got stuck on the Baku-Shamakhi-Gabala highway and had to spend the night on the road. The most difficult situation is on mountain passes – Achydarya (58 km), Muganly Ismayilly (130 km), Agsu (145 km).

Since the morning of 9 January the ice has also seriously hampered traffic on the road Baku-Guba and a segment of Baku-Sumqayit. According to the traffic police, over 10 chain accidents have been registered on this highway since this morning
