Tragic Poisoning Incident Claims Child’s Life in Azerbaijan’s Goygol

GOYGOL, Azerbaijan - A heartbreaking poisoning incident in the village of Balcili, Goygol district, resulted in the death of a ten-year-old child and affected three other individuals.

According to Azeri-Press Agency, the event took place around 01:00 on August 30 when four people were urgently taken to the Goygol District Central Hospital after being poisoned by a medicine named "Niastol."

The victims, identified by APA's local bureau, included Matanat Gasimova, born in 1961, and three minors—Gasimzadeh Fidan Ceyhun, born in 2018, Simuzer Valiyeva, and Aydan Orujova, both born in 2014. It is reported that the poisoning occurred during a routine head washing. Tragically, Aydan Orujova succumbed to the effects of the poisoning before she could receive medical attention.

Two of the affected children were transferred to the Children's Hospital under the Ganja City United Hospital for further care, where one is in severe condition and the other is moderate. The condition of Matanat Gasimova is also currently listed as moderate.

This incident has raised concerns regarding the safety and use of the medicine involved. Further details are awaited as local authorities and health officials continue their investigation into the exact cause of the poisoning.
