Astana: The commissioning of the Trans-Caspian Fiber-Optic Cable Line between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan is planned for the third quarter of 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan, Jaslan Madiev announced, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Trans-Caspian Fiber-Optic Cable Line is an important component of the Digital Silk Road project - a digital telecommunications corridor passing through several countries, including Azerbaijan, Georgia, Trkiye, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan.
This digital infrastructure will provide a high-bandwidth, low-latency route for data transmission, serving as the most efficient and shortest link to promote regional cooperation and sustainable development among the participating countries.
