“Armenian diaspora has recently started an attack on information front that historically Armenians have allegedly lived in Lachin since the 4th century. It is absolutely a lie,” said Farid Shafiyev, chairman of the Center for International Relations Analysis (AIR Center) at a round table entitled “Lachin: New stage of the post-conflict period” organized in the AIR Center today, APA reports.

Farid Shafiyev noted that 99% of population of Lachin was Azerbaijanis in 1992 before the occupation, and only about 300 Armenians lived there: “Armenians were illegally transferred from Syria and Lebanon to Lachin during the period after occupation, they admit it themselves. Now the Armenian diaspora voices these persons become refugees for the second time. It was an illegal settlement.”
