Baku: The next meeting of the Azerbaijan-Iran Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation will be held in Baku today, said Amin Tarfaa, Head of the International Relations Center of Iran's Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the main topics of discussion at the meeting include the development of cooperation in the transport sector, the completion of border infrastructure, and the expansion of mutual cultural ties. Amin Tarfaa emphasized that the development of border infrastructure between Iran and Azerbaijan is progressing in both the railway and road transport sectors, which can significantly facilitate trade exchanges.
Furthermore, the parties are set to discuss all areas of bilateral cooperation and will exchange views on plans and opportunities to be implemented and developed between the two countries by next year. It was also noted that a memorandum of understanding reflecting the agreements reached during the meeting will be signed at the conclusion of the event.
