Ganja: The date of the trial in the criminal case involving Avanesyan Karen Albertovich, an Armenian resident of Khankendi accused of terrorism and other serious crimes, has been announced. The case has been assigned to Judge Ilkin Ibishov of the Ganja Grave Crimes Court, with a preparatory hearing scheduled for December 11, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, on September 14, Avanesyan left his home and headed to a nearby forested area where he had previously hidden an AK-47 assault rifle, four magazines of ammunition, and five grenades. His plan was to approach the venue of an event in Khankendi. When law enforcement intervened, Avanesyan resisted by throwing three hand grenades and firing the assault rifle. During the exchange, he was wounded and apprehended.

Karen Avanesyan faces multiple charges based on the evidence collected, including attempted intentional killing in connection with terrorism, attempted murder, terrorism using firearms, illegal acquisition and storage of weapons, and resisting and using force against authority. These charges are filed under Articles 29,120.2.3, 29,120.2.4, 29,120.2.7, 29,120.2.11, 214.2.3, 228.1, and 315 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
