MOSCOW — A significant route that would connect Azerbaijan’s western districts with its exclave Nakhchivan through Armenian territory is currently under discussion. This development is part of the broader efforts by a trilateral working group that includes Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia, focusing on reopening all economic and transport links in the South Caucasus.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions are guided by the principles set forth in trilateral agreements among the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. During a briefing, Zakharova emphasized that any agreement on opening the routes would require mutual consent and should serve the interests of both Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as their neighboring regions.
