Baku: Natural gas deliveries to Trkiye are set to commence via a pipeline traversing the Caspian Sea, marking a significant milestone in regional energy cooperation. Trkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, announced that concrete steps are being taken to facilitate this transmission, as reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Minister Bayraktar emphasized the importance of transporting hydrocarbon reserves from the eastern Caspian to the western Caspian. He stated, “We have now reached the stage of taking concrete steps toward delivering natural gas to Trkiye through the Caspian pipeline, a goal we have aspired to for 30 years.” The minister highlighted that the infrastructure on the western side of the Caspian is already prepared to support this endeavor.

Minister Bayraktar also noted the strategic significance of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) in this context. “TANAP is an extremely strategic project in this regard,” he said. The advancement in this direction is expected to foster the development of Turkic States while also impacting the energy dynamics of Europe and the Mediterranean region.
