Ankara: Trkiye’s national football team secured a 4-1 victory over Georgia in the fourth match of Group E in the 2026 FIFA World Cup European Qualifiers, strengthening its position within the group.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Trkiye’s Merih Demiral scored the team’s fourth goal in the 52nd minute with a header. The goal followed a precise corner from Captain Hakan Calhanoglu, who was celebrated for earning his 100th cap. Demiral’s successful header added to Trkiye’s commanding lead.

Georgia managed to score in the 64th minute when Kochorashvili finished inside the box after receiving a clever backheel pass from Davitashvili, narrowing the score to 4-1. Despite a promising attempt in the 81st minute by Georgia’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who dribbled past multiple defenders and attempted a left-footed strike from outside the box, the shot missed the target, sailing over the crossbar.
