Baku: President of the United States Donald Trump has sent a congratulatory message to President Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the letter from President Trump highlights the strengthened relationship between the United States and Azerbaijan following the historic peace summit held in Washington in August 2025. The cooperation has culminated in the signing of the Strategic Partnership Charter by Vice President Vance and President Aliyev on February 10, 2026, in Baku. The letter emphasizes the deepening partnership in areas such as regional connectivity, economic ties, and security cooperation.
President Trump also reiterated the United States' support for lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, acknowledging Azerbaijan's efforts towards the peace agreement initiated last August. These efforts include the ongoing border delimitation process, the release of Armenian prisoners, fuel shipments to Armenia, and the Peace Bridge initiative aimed at fostering collaboration between the two countries' civil societies.
The message concluded with President Trump expressing his anticipation for continued collaboration and strengthening of the strategic partnership in the coming years and decades, extending his best wishes to President Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan.
