Washington: US Prime Minister Donald Trump continues to believe that peace in Ukraine is achievable and is working toward it, despite the situation in Iran, said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Leavitt emphasized during a conversation with reporters that the president views peace as an attainable objective in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This statement comes amidst allegations in the American press that Moscow may be sharing intelligence with Tehran. Leavitt reiterated the current administration's commitment to pursuing peace, stating, "The current administration still wants to see that. And I know the president will continue to work on it."
When asked about possible communication between the US and Russian leadership in light of these allegations, Leavitt declined to provide specifics. She stated, "Let the President [Trump] speak directly on that," leaving open the possibility of future discussions between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
