The tsunami warning following the earthquake in Türkiye’s Hatay was canceled, said Fuat Oktay, Vice President of Türkiye, APA reports.

 

According to him, the tsunami warning was issued in accordance with the AFAD procedure.

 

“That decision has already been canceled,” said Fuat Oktay.

 

Following a 6.4-magnitude earthquake in Hatay, Türkiye, a tsunami warning was issued, said Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), APA reports.

 

“It is important for our citizens to avoid the coastline as a precaution against the potential of sea level rising by up to 50 cm,” it was said.
