Turkey’s Black Sea Gas Production Hits Milestone with Plans for Expansion


ANKARA – Turkey has achieved a new milestone in natural gas production at the Sakarya field in the Black Sea, reaching a daily output of 6 million cubic meters, with plans to increase this volume to 10 million cubic meters by April 2025.



According to Trend News Agency, Alparslan Bayraktar, the head of Turkey’s Ministry of Energy, shared these figures during a meeting with the Justice and Development Party activists in Zonguldak. He highlighted that the current production supports the gas needs of 6 million out of the 20 million households in Turkey. Bayraktar also announced the forthcoming arrival of a new floating production platform, which is expected to significantly boost offshore gas production capabilities by the first half of 2025.
