Baku: The Turkic World Week dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress commenced at the Heydar Aliyev Center. Farah Aliyeva, representing the Presidential Administration, conveyed President Ilham Aliyev's message to the attendees.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the event began with Minister of Culture Adil Karimli emphasizing Azerbaijan's commitment to the Congress's legacy, which is being honored at the state level through President Aliyev's initiative. Karimli highlighted that the Turkic World Week includes meetings that are expected to foster new scientific and cultural collaborations. These events are scheduled to continue in Shusha, Khankendi, and Aghdam.

Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, remarked on the enduring relevance of the Congress's ideas for the Turkic world's integration and cooperation. Rafael Huseynov, Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis and an academician, described the Congress as a pivotal moment in the scientific, cultural, and political history of the Turkic world. The ceremony concluded with a cultural program.

The Turkic World Week, which will run until July 3, is a collaborative effort by the Ministry of Culture, the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, and the Ministry of Science and Education. It is organized in partnership with the Organization of Turkic States, TURKSOY, Baku State University, the Turkic Academy, and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation. The event brings together 80 prominent Turkologists and representatives from 20 countries, aiming to celebrate and advance the shared heritage and future of the Turkic world.
