Turkish and Azerbaijani Defense Universities Explore Enhanced Military Education Collaboration

Baku: Rector of the National Defence University, Major General Gunduz Abdulov, met with a delegation led by Vice Rector of the Turkish National Defense University, Lieutenant General Burhan Aktas, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC. The meeting focused on expanding collaboration in military education between the two nations.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Major General Abdulov warmly welcomed the Turkish delegation, expressing his satisfaction at their visit to Azerbaijan. He emphasized the strong foundation of Azerbaijan-Turkiye relations built on mutual trust, confidence, and friendship. Major General Abdulov provided an overview of the ongoing reforms and innovations within Azerbaijan's military education system, which align with international best practices.

Lieutenant General Aktas expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended to the delegation and acknowledged the significance of visiting Azerbaijan. He congratulated Azerbaijan on its Armed Forces Day, celebrated on June 26, and commended the remarkable development of the Azerbaijani Army as a model for other nations. He voiced confidence that the motto "One Nation, Two States" would continue to guide the flourishing bilateral cooperation.

During the discussions, both parties reviewed the current state of joint activities in military education and explored future development prospects. They highlighted the importance of enhancing military personnel's knowledge and professional competencies, preparing highly qualified personnel, and promoting reciprocal visits as an effective mechanism for experience exchange. The meeting included an extensive exchange of views on several mutual interest issues.

After the meeting, Lieutenant General Burhan Aktas recorded his remarks in the Book of Honored Guests. The meeting concluded with an exchange of gifts and a group photo session, symbolizing the strengthened partnership between the two defense universities.
