Tbilisi: An agreement has been reached on the extradition to Azerbaijan of Turkish citizen Osman Kaya, who was placed on the international wanted list based on a request by the Prosecutor General's Office, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Osman Kaya is accused of repeated fraud causing large-scale damage in a criminal case under investigation by the Investigation and Inquiry Department of the Baku City Main Police Department. Kaya, who had been declared internationally wanted through Interpol for evading the investigation, was detained while attempting to illegally cross the Georgian border.

Measures are currently underway to bring Kaya to Azerbaijan. The Prosecutor General's Office emphasized their ongoing cooperation with foreign partner agencies to identify wanted persons in foreign countries and facilitate their return to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
