Istanbul: A court in Trkiye has ruled to keep two footballers from Fenerbah§e and Galatasaray in custody over betting-related charges, APA's Trkiye bureau reports. The court decided to remand Metehan Baltaci, a player for Galatasaray, and Mert Hakan Yandas, who plays for Fenerbah§e, in custody. Note that their detention periods were due to expire today.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the second phase of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office, widely known as the 'Football Betting Investigation,' revealed that Galatasaray footballer Metehan Baltaci had placed bets on matches involving his own club. It was also reported that Fenerbah§e footballer Mert Hakan Yandas had participated in legal betting activities through a third party.
