Turkish MFA Issues Statement on Khojaly Genocide Anniversary

Ankara: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Trkiye has issued a statement on the occasion of the anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, APA reports. In the statement, the ministry condemned the massacre carried out against innocent civilians in the city of Khojaly, located in Azerbaijan's Karabakh region, on February 26, 1992.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the ministry emphasized that the atrocity committed in Khojaly remains a shameful black stain on the conscience. It highlighted the enduring pain felt for the 613 Azerbaijanis who were killed, as well as those who were wounded, taken captive, and went missing during the tragic event.

The ministry extended its condolences to the Azerbaijani people and expressed prayers for mercy upon those who lost their lives in the Khojaly genocide.
