Turkish Military Conducts Operations Against PKK in Northern Iraq, Neutralizes 11


ANKARA: The Turkish Armed Forces have successfully conducted operations in northern Iraq, resulting in the neutralization of 11 terrorists, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense of Trkiye. The operations targeted regions known for terrorist activity, aiming to undermine the operational capabilities of the PKK.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ministry announced via its official X account that 10 of these terrorists were neutralized in the Hakurk region, with an additional terrorist neutralized in the Metina region. The operations underscore Trkiye’s ongoing military efforts to combat terrorism and secure its borders against threats posed by the PKK, a group designated as a terrorist organization by Trkiye, the United States, and the European Union.

The Ministry’s announcement reflects Trkiye’s commitment to maintaining security in its region and the proactive measures it is taking against organizations it considers a threat. The operations in Hakurk and Metina are part of a
broader strategy to disrupt the activities of the PKK, which has been engaged in an ongoing insurgency against the Turkish state.
