Nakhchivan: A delegation led by Army General Metin Tokel, Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Trkiye, visited the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, as reported by the Ministry of Defense to APA. The visit focused on strengthening military cooperation and strategic relations between Trkiye and Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the delegation paid homage to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev by visiting his monument in Nakhchivan's central square. They also honored the memory of Mustafa Kemal Atatrk, the founder of the Republic of Trkiye, by visiting his monument in the city.
During their visit, the delegation toured the headquarters of the Combined Arms Army (CAA), where Lieutenant General Kanan Seyidov, Commander of the CAA, received them. In line with protocol, the 'Book of Honor' was signed, and discussions were held on mutual interests.
In a briefing, the history, development, and future objectives of the CAA were outlined. Army General Metin Tokel emphasized Trkiye's commitment to supporting Azerbaijan, highlighting the strategic and military partnership rooted in the Shusha Declaration. He assured that Trkiye stands ready to assist in maintaining regional stability and security.
The meeting concluded with discussions on planning joint military exercises and sharing mutual experiences, underscoring the deepening military collaboration between the two nations.
