Turkish National Defense University Delegation Engages in Strategic Visit to Azerbaijan

Baku: A delegation led by Lieutenant General Burhan Aktas, Vice Rector of the Turkish National Defense University, is continuing its visit to Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Turkish delegation met with Commander of the Azerbaijan Naval Forces Rear Admiral Shahin Mammadov. During the meeting, the guests were briefed on the history, activities, and combat readiness of the Naval Forces, as well as ongoing efforts to develop professional military personnel. Lieutenant General Burhan Aktas signed the visitors' book to commemorate the occasion.

The delegation's itinerary included a visit to a Naval Forces military unit, where members viewed the weapons and equipment utilized by the naval special forces. This provided the delegation with insights into the capabilities and preparedness of Azerbaijan's naval forces.

Further in the visit, the Turkish delegation explored the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute of the National Defense University. Here, they were briefed on the educational processes and toured the campus and administrative facilities. They also engaged with Turkish cadets studying at the institute, learning about their academic training, living conditions, and overall professional preparedness.

The delegation concluded their tour at the War Games Center of the Military Management Institute under the National Defense University. They were briefed on the center's activities and discussed existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Trkiye in the realm of military education. The visit wrapped up with an exchange of gifts and a group photograph, marking the strengthening of ties between the two nations.
