Turkish Travel Club’s delegation visits Shusha

A delegation of the Turkiye Travelers Club, comprising 30 travelers, led by President the Club Selman Arinc, whose name is included in the top 50 international travelers list of NomadMania global ranking, has today kicked off its visit to Azerbaijan’s Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur regions.

As part of the trip, the Turkish travelers first visited Azerbaijan’s city of Shusha. The travelers familiarized themselves with a host of historical sites and the picturesque nature of the city.

The employee of the Shusha City State Reserve provided an insight into the history of the city, the city’s state under almost 30-year old Armenian occupation, as well as the restoration process carried out here. During the years of occupation, a host of historical buildings, monuments and mosques located in Shusha were subjected to Armenian vandalism. Following the liberation of the city, a large-scale restoration was launched to restore the true historical image of Shusha, as well as its historical and cultural monuments.

The travelers also viewed the shot monuments of Azerbaijan’s prominent art personalities such as Khurshidbanu Natavan, Bulbul and Uzeyir Hajibayli at the Central Square of Shusha.

The 3-day trip is of great importance in terms of promoting Azerbaijani liberated territories in the framework of black tourism.
