Beijing: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and First Vice Premier of the State Council of China, during his working visit to the People’s Republic of China. The meeting emphasized the strategic nature and future prospects of the bilateral relationship between the two nations.

According to Trend News Agency, Ding Xuexiang welcomed President Berdimuhamedov’s visit and highlighted the ongoing development in trade, economic cooperation, cultural exchanges, and political dialogue between Turkmenistan and China. Discussions during the meeting focused on energy partnerships, with President Berdimuhamedov acknowledging the successful operation of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline since its inception in 2009.

Transport and logistics were also central to the discussions, particularly the creation of a trans-Caspian route aimed at enhancing connectivity between China, Central Asia, and Europe. The Turkmen delegation expressed an eagerness to deepen cooperation in railway transport, including modernizing infrastructure and acquiring new equipment from China.

Trade expansion was another focal point, with Turkmenistan proposing to increase exports of textiles, chemical and agricultural products, as well as petroleum products, to the Chinese market. High technology and artificial intelligence were also prioritized, with President Berdimuhamedov suggesting collaboration utilizing resources such as the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology, and the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics to advance these fields.
