Turkmenistan and Georgia increase trade turnover in 1H2024


ASHGABAT: The total amount of trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Georgia from January through June this year amounted to $40.9 million, Trend reports.

According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, this is 7 percent higher than the same volume of trade turnover between the two countries in the first half of the previous year, which amounted to $38.2 million.

During this period, Turkmenistan exported goods totaling almost $34.7 million to Georgia, which is slightly higher than in the corresponding period of 2023, when exports were estimated at $33.6 million.

At the same time, in the first half of this year, Turkmenistan imported goods from Georgia in the amount of $6.1 million, which is 32 percent more than in the same period last year, when imports were estimated at $4.6 million.

Meanwhile, for the whole of last year, the total amount of trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Georgia amounted to $100.6 million, which is 46 percent lower than the trade activity of the same period last year,
which amounted to $186.5 million.
