ASHGABAT: Turkmenistan and Malaysia are preparing to bolster their economic cooperation, with a focus on exploring new opportunities in various sectors. This initiative follows a series of key meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, as reported by Trend via the Turkmen embassy in Malaysia.

According to Trend News Agency, Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Muhammetniyaz Mashalov, held discussions with prominent Malaysian officials to advance this agenda. A meeting with Dr. Shazelin Zainul Abidi, Head of the South and Central Asia Department at Malaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, centered on expanding cooperation across political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields. The importance of high-level visits to foster closer ties was emphasized by both parties.

In a separate engagement, Ambassador Mashalov conferred with Hajiji Noor, Chief Minister of the Malaysian state of Sabah. The dialogue focused on exploring new partnerships, particularly in the sectors of agric
ulture, education, and tourism, areas identified as offering mutual benefits for both countries. The meeting concluded with a commitment from both sides to build a robust partnership that supports regional development.

These diplomatic efforts highlight the ongoing initiatives by Turkmenistan and Malaysia to enhance their bilateral relationship, particularly in boosting economic ties and creating new avenues for cooperation.
