Turkmenistan and Tajikistan Engage in Talks on Regional Security


ASHGABAT: Heads of subdivisions from the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan have engaged in discussions centered on regional security, emphasizing the development of political and diplomatic dialogue between the two nations, Trend reports via Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry.

According to Trend News Agency, the discussions took place during inter-ministerial consultations held in Ashgabat. The meeting underscored the importance of maintaining regular high-level contacts and highlighted the commitment to close cooperation within regional and international frameworks, such as the United Nations.

During the consultations, diplomats from both countries exchanged perspectives on pressing international and regional political issues. Key topics included peacebuilding efforts, economic recovery, and political stability in Afghanistan, as well as strategies to address emerging global challenges and threats.

Furthermore, the discussions recognized the effectiveness of the partnership between the two fo
reign ministries. The representatives praised the level of collaboration outlined in the existing program of cooperation, emphasizing the strengthened ties between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan in diplomatic affairs.
