ASHGABAT: Turkmenistan is poised to enhance its green energy sector through collaboration with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), focusing on solar and wind power, as well as energy storage and transmission technologies. Discussions were held during a visit by Dario Liguti, Director of the UNECE Sustainable Energy Division, to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
According to Trend News Agency, the meeting highlighted the potential partnership in renewable energy development and addressed the reduction of methane emissions. The talks also underscored the significance of Turkmenistan’s initiative, which was presented at the World Government Summit and received backing during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, to establish a global alliance for energy security and sustainable development.
Both parties expressed a shared commitment to overcoming the challenges in the energy sector, signaling a mutual interest in advancing collaboration for sustainable energy solutions.
