Baku: On June 25, Secretary General of TURKPA, Ambassador Ramil Hasan, and Ahmed Bin Mohammad Al-Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), signed a Protocol of Intent outlining the principal areas of future cooperation between the two organizations.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the signing ceremony took place at the TURKPA International Secretariat, where the Secretary General emphasized the importance of strengthening relations with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace. He highlighted that the GCTP, committed to promoting friendship, cooperation, peace, and stability, has already concluded Protocols of Intent with more than 40 parliaments and international organizations worldwide. Ambassador Ramil Hasan pointed out that the Protocol serves as a valuable and exemplary framework for cooperation between international parliamentary organizations, contributing to the advancement of parliamentary diplomacy.
The Secretary General further noted that the signed Protocol of Intent would significantly enhance relations between the parties, facilitating the implementation of joint initiatives aimed at promoting peace, mutual understanding, and stability both regionally and globally.
In his remarks, Ahmed Bin Mohammad Al-Jarwan underscored the GCTP's commitment to cooperation with TURKPA. He recalled that the Council has also signed Memoranda of Understanding with the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, founding members of TURKPA, emphasizing that collaboration between the two international parliamentary organizations is crucial for advancing dialogue, mutual understanding, and global peace.
Ahmed Bin Mohammad Al-Jarwan highlighted the importance of organizing joint international conferences and coordinating activities on various international platforms. He expressed confidence that the Protocol of Intent would further strengthen relations between the two organizations and create new opportunities for cooperation. He also wished both organizations continued success in their future endeavors.
