Budapest: The TURKPA delegation, led by Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan, met with Ambassador Bal¡zs Hendrich, Executive Director of the Budapest Office of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), as part of their official visit to Budapest, Hungary.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Hendrich welcomed the TURKPA delegation, expressing pleasure at the visit and emphasizing the importance of harmonizing legislative frameworks among member countries.

Hendrich highlighted the essential role of swift ratification in national parliaments concerning decisions made by the Organization of Turkic States, coordinated by TURKPA. He noted the potential of the Hungarian Office, which serves as the OTS Office to the European Union, in organizing conferences, seminars, and panel discussions in the coming years. These events, planned under the joint coordination of TURKPA and the OTS European Office, aim to address topics related to the Middle Corridor initiative and the Gabala Declaration of the OTS.

Both TURKPA Secretary General and Ambassador Hendrich supported these initiatives, discussing their inclusion in the upcoming working plan. The discussions also underscored the value of short-term internship programs, facilitating exchanges between the diplomatic staff of the OTS European Office and TURKPA.

Ambassador Ramil Hasan expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and highlighted shared strategic interests of the Turkic world, proposing the Budapest Office’s active engagement in TURKPA activities. He appreciated the participation of Attila Tilki, Head of the Delegation of Hungary to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, in a recent coordination meeting in Istanbul and extended an invitation for further consultations at the TURKPA International Secretariat in Baku.

Ambassador Hendrich reiterated the open-door policy of the Budapest Office towards Turkic institutions, emphasizing the dynamic growth of the Organization of Turkic States. He encouraged collaborative efforts towards the Turkic World Vision 2040, stressing the need for parliamentary engagement on strategic issues like energy cooperation.

The meeting saw the attendance of key officials, including Secretary General’s deputies Talgat Aduov, Muhammet Alper Hayali, Secretary of Commission Aynura Abutalibova, Chief of Protocol Yadigar Mammadov, and Project Coordinator Ali Kili§arslan from the OTS Representation Office in Budapest.
