Baku: U.S. President Donald Trump has extended his congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Azerbaijan’s Independence Day.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Trump conveyed his greetings through a letter addressed to President Aliyev. In his letter, Trump highlighted the value of the relationship between the United States and Azerbaijan, emphasizing their collaboration in combating terrorism, enhancing energy security, and striving for peace in the region.

The letter underscored the progress in diplomatic relations over the past three decades and expressed a desire for continued cooperation on key bilateral priorities, such as security, economic partnership, and energy development. Trump also reiterated the United States’ support for a lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, advocating for a peaceful resolution to the conflict to foster prosperity in the South Caucasus region and enable further collaboration with the United States.
