Baku: U.S. Senator Steve Daines, who serves on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe and Regional Security Cooperation, expressed his appreciation to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for his leadership in advancing a peace agenda. This was stated during a meeting where the senator highlighted the successful development of relations between the United States and Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Senator Daines underscored the significance of President Aliyev's visit to Washington in August of the previous year, describing it as a pivotal moment in bilateral relations. He also acknowledged Azerbaijan's vital geopolitical position under President Aliyev's leadership.

Additionally, Senator Daines conveyed his gratitude to President Aliyev for his efforts in normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, recognizing his initiative in promoting peace in the region.
