Dushanbe: The delegation from Turkmenistan joined representatives from the UK and Central Asian countries in Dushanbe at an event dedicated to migration statistics, labor market assessment, and adapting data to user needs, Trend reports via the Turkmen Embassy in the UK. The meeting aimed at fostering stronger cooperation and sharing strategies related to migration data between the involved nations.

According to Trend News Agency, the event was organized by the UK government in collaboration with the Effective Governance for Economic Development (EGED) Programme. It brought together the national statistical services of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The gathering focused on exchanging experiences and strategies to improve migration statistics and related economic assessments.

Participants also engaged in bilateral discussions with their UK counterparts to further strengthen cooperation in the field of statistics. The EGED Programme, a five-year UK-funded initiative, seeks to enhance the effectiveness, transparency, and accountability of economic policymaking across Central Asia. This collaboration is expected to bolster the region’s capabilities in managing migration data and adapting it to meet user needs more effectively.
