Baku: Ukraine plans to restart its involvement in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), as announced by Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, Chairman of “Ukrainian Railways” JSC. This announcement was made during the “Middle Corridor via the Caspian Sea” forum in Baku.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Pertsovskyi highlighted the critical role played by all participants in the TITR in developing this transport corridor. He noted the value of having an alternative route connecting East Asia to Western Europe, which has seen an increase in activity. The Chairman explained that Ukraine had temporarily halted its participation in the TITR due to geopolitical issues but expressed satisfaction at the prospect of re-engaging with the project.
Pertsovskyi also mentioned ongoing efforts to restore ferry connections with Georgia. This restoration aims to facilitate the TITR route’s reach to European countries through Ukraine and re-establish previous economic links between the nations involved.
