Ukraine’s counteroffensive expected in June – official

Ukraine’s presidential aide Oleksiy Arestovich told Nikkei news in an online interview published on Monday that Kiev will most likely start its counteroffensive against Moscow in late May to mid-June, APA reports citing Teletrader.

The initiative will be possible thanks to the weapon supplies the West allies have been sending Ukraine, noted Arestovich. He further stated that “the crime of mass killings” by the Russian army will increase if they stay on Ukrainian territory “even by one day.”

Arestovich urged everyone to stay vigilant as the outcome of the conflict is still unpredictable, although he mentioned that Russian troops “have already been defeated strategically” as they failed to take over Kiev. Earlier, the British Ministry of Defense shared that “some of Russia’s most elite units, including the VDV Airborne Forces, have suffered the highest levels of attrition.”
