First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency Bahruz Mammadov has met with a delegation led by Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratyuk, who is on a visit to the country to participate in the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue held in Baku.

Addressing the meeting, Bahruz Mammadov highlighted the activities of the agency, the landmine problem faced by the country, landmine victims, difficulties caused by landmines in the rehabilitation, construction works carried out in areas liberated from occupation, as well as the large-scale humanitarian demining operations carried out in these territories. He also emphasized that demining of the liberated territories is one of the main priorities of the “Great Return” program.

Olena Kondratyuk hailed the reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. Taking into account the high level of mine contamination in the territories of Ukraine, she stressed the importance of cooperation with
the Agency in the field of humanitarian demining.

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other bilateral issues of mutual interest in this area.
