Ukrainian Media Outlet Highlights 34th Anniversary of Khojaly Genocide

Kyiv: Ukrainian media outlet "Nasha Versiya (Our Take)" has published an article headlined "34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide: What does history tell us?," highlighting one of the bloodiest tragedies of the 20th century. The author of the article is Arif Guliyev-Doctor of Law, Professor, diplomat, and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, in his article, Professor Guliyev chronicles the horrific events of the Khojaly genocide, underlining that this act of mass extermination was a calculated component of the 200-year-long policy of ethnic cleansing and military aggression pursued by Armenian nationalists against the Azerbaijani people. The author draws a parallel between the tragedy in Azerbaijan and other infamous crimes against humanity.

"The Azerbaijani town of Khojaly has long transcended being a mere geographical name. It stands alongside Babyn Yar, Auschwitz, Khatyn, and Buchenwald. This town remains one of the most tragic symbols of massacre, having shaken the global conscience with its unprecedented cruelty and brutality," the article underlines.
