Baku: The United Kingdom's status as a leading global financial center positions it to play a substantial role in supporting economic processes in Azerbaijan, British expert Neil Watson explained in the latest episode of the program 'Azerbaijan and the World,' broadcast on the AZERTAC website.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Watson elaborated on the UK's potential contribution to regional stability and economic development in the South Caucasus. He noted that London has consistently engaged in economic diplomacy, with a focus on infrastructure development and financial backing for strategic initiatives.
Watson highlighted that Azerbaijan is currently benefiting from a significant influx of funding, including investments directed towards demining liberated territories. Additionally, private investment in the country is on the rise, and there is active utilization of sovereign funds and risk insurance instruments.
Furthermore, Watson pointed out the political aspect of the region's development, emphasizing that the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia has reached a critical stage. He acknowledged that initiatives taken during the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump have contributed positively to the advancement of negotiations.
