UN Contributes $100 Million Annually to Kyrgyzstan’s Development Efforts

BISHKEK — The United Nations system is reportedly allocating $100 million every year to support development initiatives in Kyrgyzstan. This statement was made by Akylbek Japarov, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, during the National Poverty and Inequality Development Forum.

According to 24.kg News Agency, as of November 2023, projects amounting to $64 million have been executed. The funds were distributed across various sectors, with $26 million allocated to social services, $10 million to the economy, $19 million to environmental and climate projects, and $9 million to public administration and the rule of law. He expressed his gratitude to the United Nations for its ongoing assistance to the country.
