Baku: Azerbaijan's leadership in demining operations has been recognized as providing valuable experience for other countries, according to Erfan Ali, Director of the Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat). Ali noted the country's commitment in undertaking more than 95-96 percent of demining operations, which not only demonstrates its significant efforts but also offers a model for other nations to follow.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Ali emphasized the importance of security in any conflict or post-conflict situation, as it is essential for initiating the rebuilding of cities. The Azerbaijani government's demining initiatives in regions such as Garabagh and East Zangezur are crucial in ensuring such security, making their efforts notably significant in the context of reconstruction and development.
