Baku: 'Artificial intelligence could revolutionize demining efforts. In particular, over the past two years, the technology has led to significant advances in our ability to detect and neutralize mines and to enhance our capacity to move safely through hazardous areas,' Tim Lardner, Director for Europe and Central Asia at the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), told journalists.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Tim Lardner emphasized that the application of AI and other advanced technologies in demining is still in its early stages. The potential for these technologies to transform the way demining is conducted could lead to improved detection and neutralization of mines, allowing safer navigation through dangerous areas. Despite the progress made, the integration of AI in demining operations is ongoing and requires further development and refinement.
