Baku: The European Union is poised to deepen its economic relationship with Azerbaijan, as stated by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. During a joint press conference with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, von der Leyen emphasized the EU's status as Azerbaijan's largest trading partner and biggest investor, expressing a commitment to further strengthen these ties.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, von der Leyen announced the resumption of discussions on a new comprehensive cooperation agreement between the EU and Azerbaijan. She highlighted that this agreement could pave the way for increased trade between the two entities, underscoring the EU's dedication to facilitating progress in these discussions.
