Uzbek Advisor Clarifies Military-Technical Cooperation Among Turkic States

Tashkent: Military-technical cooperation among member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is a natural process, not a sign of the organization functioning as a military-political bloc, according to Abdulaziz Kamilov, Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan on Foreign Policy. Speaking to journalists, Kamilov emphasized that while the OTS does engage in military-technical collaboration, its primary focus remains on cultural, humanitarian, and economic cooperation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Kamilov explained that the cooperation within the military sphere, including the exchange of technologies and expertise, does not imply the OTS is evolving into a military-political bloc. "We cooperate in the military sphere and exchange technologies, but this organization is not a military-political bloc. This should be clarified so that no one has concerns," Kamilov clarified, highlighting the importance of understanding the true nature of the OTS.

Kamilov further elaborated that collaboration in military technologies and the sharing of military-technical experience among countries is a natural and expected process. He reiterated that the main objective of the organization is to strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties, expand economic cooperation, and foster collaboration in scientific and technical domains.

In concluding his remarks, Kamilov stressed that while military-technical cooperation is a possibility, it does not indicate a shift towards the formation of a political bloc within the OTS.
