Baku: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has extended his congratulations to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for receiving the prestigious Zayed Human Fraternity Award, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Mirziyoyev conveyed his sentiments through a letter, highlighting the significance of Aliyev's achievement. The letter emphasized Aliyev's contributions to ensuring peace and stability in the South Caucasus region, which were recognized through his receipt of the award in Abu Dhabi.
The Uzbek President lauded Aliyev's role in signing the Joint Declaration with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Washington on August 8, 2025, describing it as a historic step towards peace. He acknowledged Aliyev's commitment to resolving conflicts through political and diplomatic channels and his efforts in establishing equal relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The letter also praised Aliyev's dedication to developing regional security mechanisms and economic and transport links.
Mirziyoyev commended Aliyev for setting an example in conducting peace-oriented dialogue and resolving complex issues through strategic and courageous decisions. He concluded his letter by wishing Aliyev continued success in his state duties, along with health, happiness, and progress for the people of Azerbaijan.
