Uzbekistan and Iran Advance Transport and Logistics Collaboration


TASHKENT— Uzbekistan and Iran are intensifying their collaboration in the transport and logistics sectors, aiming to enhance bilateral ties and streamline operations for national carriers involved in international road freight.



According to Trend News Agency, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Transport, Ilkhom Makhkamov, convened with Samad Hasanzoda, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mining, and Agriculture of Iran, on September 19. The meeting, which also saw participation from the ambassadors of both countries, focused on reviewing the current state of and prospects for cooperation in transport and logistics. Key discussions centered on establishing more favorable conditions for their national carriers and tackling issues related to fees, payments, and the development of international transport corridors on a reciprocal basis.
