Uzbekistan eyes to increase trade turnover with Pakistan

Uzbekistan and Pakistan agreed to increase the trade turnover to $500 million/year in the coming years, and in the long term to bring it to $1 billion,Trend reports via the press service of the Uzbek president.

 

This was revealed as the results of the first day of the state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Pakistan.

 

During the negotiations of the Uzbek and Pakistani sides, it was noted that trade and economic ties of the two of countries are consistently developing. Over the past year, the volume of mutual trade has grown by 50 percent.

 

During the visit of the president, an important step was the signing of the Preferential Trade Agreement.

 

Also, the parties agreed to accelerate the implementation of major joint transport and communication projects aimed at strengthening the interconnectedness of Central and South Asia.
