Baku: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has expressed interest in establishing a dedicated Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan corridor in the Caspian Sea with a single operator. This announcement was made during the third meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of this initiative while addressing the council. He highlighted the need for detailed plans from the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission to enhance trade and strengthen cooperation between the two nations. The President underscored the critical tasks that lie ahead for the transport ministers of both countries, particularly in the context of developing the Middle Corridor.

During the meeting, Mirziyoyev and Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev discussed the acceleration of launching a joint fleet in the Caspian Sea. Both leaders agreed on the necessity of expediting the process to establish a separate Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan corridor with a single operator, aiming to boost regional connectivity and economic collaboration.
