Tashkent: The Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations held a public reporting briefing on NGO projects implemented on the theme of “Return to Western Azerbaijan”, APA reports. An exhibition showcasing the outcomes of these projects was organized as part of the event.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the briefing highlighted the significant contributions of NGOs in promoting the “Return to Western Azerbaijan” theme through various publications. Over 200 articles and 15 books have been published in recent years, including notable works such as “Irevan: our history, our land, our destiny” by the “For the Social Welfare of Citizens” Public Union and “Irevan: historical truths and personalities” by the “Kainat” Public Union for Support to the Propagation of National and Spiritual Values.
Elnur Baghirli, the head of the department of the Agency for State Support to NGOs, announced upcoming projects at the briefing. The “Culture Uniting Us” Public Union will soon present the song “Zangezur” to the public, which will also be played on the radio. Additionally, the “Assistance to the Preservation and Propagation of Applied Art” Public Union plans to organize an exhibition in Uzbekistan focusing on Western Azerbaijan. A documentary film titled “The Migration of Western Azerbaijanis to Kars” is also in preparation under the NGO projects framework. Furthermore, the Azerbaijan Literature Foundation will introduce a new work of art as part of the “Western Azerbaijan in Works” project.
The exhibition materials emphasized Western Azerbaijan’s significance as a matter of historical justice, the right of return, fundamental human rights, the exposure of ethnic cleansing, and as a subject of political and legal discourse in a monoethnic state. These elements collectively contribute to regional stability.
To conclude the event, participants were treated to samples of confectionery products originating from Western Azerbaijani cuisine, adding a cultural flavor to the proceedings.
