Verstappen Secures Victory at Mexico City GP with Strategic Moves

Mexico City:Max Verstappen capitalized on strategic opportunities to claim victory at the Mexico City Grand Prix, marking his third win of the season.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Verstappen attributed his success to the intra-team battle at Ferrari, which he believes made it difficult for them and allowed him to gain a position. Starting from fifth due to a qualifying incident, he quickly moved to third and then second after off-track moments by Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.

Red Bull's strategy involved pitting Verstappen simultaneously with Leclerc, enabling him to overtake and maintain the lead through to the finish. Verstappen noted the importance of the initial race start and a well-timed pit strategy in securing his win.

Verstappen faced pressure from Hamilton after restarts caused by incidents involving Valtteri Bottas and Arvid Lindblad. Despite this, Hamilton's inability to overtake impacted the Drivers' Championship standings, placing Verstappen two points ahead of Hamilton.

Reflecting on the race, Verstappen acknowledged the challenges of the track and the significance of the win, emphasizing learning from both strengths and weaknesses for future races.
