St. petersburg: "We have always had and continue to have very good and friendly relations with Azerbaijan, both in the economic and political spheres," stated Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with representatives of international news agencies at the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The statement was made in response to a question posed by Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC Vugar Aliyev.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Putin recalled the signing of the Declaration on Allied Interaction between the two countries, noting that Azerbaijani President Aliyev has put significant effort into substantiating this treaty with concrete actions. This commitment is evident in the specific areas of cooperation that have been developed between the two nations.
Putin highlighted that Russian investments in Azerbaijan's economy have exceeded 10 billion rubles. He mentioned the presence of numerous enterprises with Russian capital operating in Azerbaijan and emphasized the strong cooperation in humanitarian efforts.
The Russian President also pointed out the various mutual interests shared by the two countries, particularly in logistics. As an example, he referenced the North-South Transport Corridor, underscoring its importance in the bilateral relations between Russia and Azerbaijan.
